 IC Electronic Components announced the acquisition of West Highland Semiconductor of  Argyll, United Kingdom. 

West Highland Semiconductor was established in 1996 as a supplier of obsolete discrete semiconductors with a focus on TO-39, TO-66 and TO-3 cases.

Glenn Nichols the President and CEO of IC Electronic Components stated that, “This acquisition will expand our product line allowing us to provide these types of products to many of our existing customers who have been looking for these unique devices through the years.” Graham Henderson, founder and CEO of WHS, will continue as a consultant. This acquisition represents the first of many international alliances we are seeking to consummate during the next 12 months to expanding our customer base and providing IC Electronic Components quick access to products that the original manufacturer experience long lead-time with or find already allocated.
